It's Barbie's year, and we're just living in it.
The movie, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, led the Golden Globe Award film nominees this morning, with 9 nods. Oppenheimer followed closely with 8, and Killers of the Flower Moon and Poor Things had 7 each. On the television side, Succession's final season scored the show 9 nominations, with The Bear and Only Murders in the Building following with five each.
This year, the Golden Globes introduced two new categories: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television, and Taylor Swift scored a nomination in the former.
