Dr. Austin is a board-certified interventional cardiologist at Hamilton Physician Croup-Cardiology in Dalton, Georgia, Hamilton Cardiovascular Institute-Catoosa in Ringgold, Georgia, and Hamilton Health-Cleveland in Cleveland, Tennessee. He attended medical school and completed his residency training at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed his fellowship in Cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.“I love interventional cardiology. It’s a sub-specialty that allows me to stent a vessel that’s 100% closed and stop a heart attack in its tracks. It’s hard to beat that. It’s a very rewarding field.”“I talk to my patients like I would want someone to talk to me. Each patient is a part of the team and has an important role. It’s very much a partnership.”To schedule an appointment with Dr. Steven Austin, please call Hamilton Physician Croup-Cardiology - 706-226-3434

**Tips when writing your personal statement (cardiology version but applicable to all specialties )**Before you start writing your PS, ask yourself some key questions:- Why Cardiology? - What makes you unique and a great fit for Cardiology? - What struggles have you faced and how have they shaped you? 💪- What research have you done and how has it impacted you? 🔬By addressing these, you can write a well-organized personal statement that highlights key points without unnecessary details. Alternatively, use these questions as a guide to review your personal statement and ensure you have covered aspects that readers might be looking for. What other questions do you think should be covered in a personal statement? And best of luck to all residency and fellowship applicants!!

📍 Our latest meta-analysis in the Journal of American College of Cardiology: Clinical Electrophysiology shows that among patients with AF, a rhythm control strategy is superior to rate control in terms of cardiovascular death, stroke, and heart failure hospitalizations; this benefit is driven mostly by contemporary trials. The use of catheter ablation in the rhythm control group was linearly associated with reduced cardiovascular death, all-cause death, and heart failure hospitalizations. The message is clear: Maintain the sinus rhythm for as long as possible! Your best bet is the ablation.https://lnkd.in/eA5j4h-9Ioannis Doundoulakis Alexandra Bekiaridou Ioannis Farmakis Kristie Coleman RN, BSN, CCRC George Giannakoulas Stavros Zanos Dimitris Tsiachris Ardan M Saguner Stavros Mountantonakis Stavros (HSC) Stavrakis

https://lnkd.in/gw6zrbzRArticle title: The Ventricular Function of the “Athlete´S Heart”. Part I: Systolic FunctionAuthor(s): Francisco Javier Calderón Montero*Journal: Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and CardiologyJournal ISSN: 2455-2976Introduction: The knowledge of the so-called “athlete’s heart”has been linked to the application of diagnostic techniques in cardiology. Perhaps, it is necessary to keep in mind that the “athlete’s heart” is a physiologically “healthy” heart. The figure 1 shows the parameters that determine the mean arterial pressure. Physical exercise is the only physiological circ*mstance that precedes the regional metabolic demand to the control of the average blood pressure.#CoronaryArteryDiseases #ValvularHeartDisease #Electrophysiology #CardiacElectrophysiology #Echocardiography #InterventionalCardiology #ClinicalCardiology #NuclearCardiology #AcuteCoronarySyndromes #ArrhythmiaEP #CVImaging #CVDPrevention #CardiacArrhythmias #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #CardiacPhysiology #CardiacRegeneration #CardiacRehabilitation #Cardiomyopathies #CardiovascularDrugs #CardiovascularTherapy #CardiovascularAnatomy #CongenitalHeartDefects
